From visible rust to a useful inspection record
ABYSS Fabric, InFlightAI and ScoutDI all address visible corrosion in inspection imagery, but they package the result differently. ABYSS connects condition grading to a facility record, InFlightAI supplies a configured detection model, and ScoutDI adds opt-in AI to an inspection-data platform. This comparison concerns surface imagery and planning context, rather than predicting hidden corrosion from sensors.
ABYSS Fabric
ABYSS Fabric connects visual capture, AI condition grading and industrial components in a shared 3D record. Its current Coatings Management module compares exposed and corroded surface areas, classifies coating condition and helps build painting scopes. Teams can select a deck, block or individual component spatially instead of assembling a work list from isolated photographs.
The current module describes Ri0-Ri5 and Re0-Re9 grading options and configurable standards. Comparative dashboards and temporal analysis put repeated observations into context: an owner can examine where coating condition has changed and which parts of a facility deserve attention next. The value is the connection between an affected surface, its component identity and the work being planned around it.
That makes ABYSS the most natural choice here for an asset owner commissioning an ongoing coating or corrosion-management program. It is a broader engagement than buying a detector for a folder of photos. The current website has replaced older package descriptions, so historical product tiers should not be assumed to define today's capture, module or user entitlements.
InFlightAI Corrosion Detection
InFlightAI Corrosion Detection is a computer-vision model for rust, oxidation and visible surface degradation. Its output is a segmentation mask, identifying the affected image region rather than merely labeling an entire frame as containing rust. Detections also carry location and severity information for review in the inspection platform.
The model is configured around the site's assets and finishes during onboarding. That detail is useful when ordinary discoloration or weathering could otherwise resemble the target defect. The documented corrosion workflow is post-flight: imagery and waypoint information are synchronized after landing, then findings are returned. It should not be bought on the assumption that the corrosion model provides live in-flight results simply because other models in the library support different inference modes.
InFlightAI fits a drone inspection team seeking a defined analytical capability inside a wider visual inspection program. The vendor describes deployment readiness by day 30, which is its onboarding position rather than an independently measured installation time. A Skydio X10 trial offer is separate from the ongoing production service and does not establish a free corrosion-monitoring plan.
ScoutDI Scout Portal
ScoutDI Scout Portal organizes the inspection record around video, 3D location and measurements. In a Scout 137 workflow, points of interest and video frames are anchored to a LiDAR-derived point cloud. Reviewers can move between an image, its place in the asset and its timestamp, then carry annotations into a report.
ScoutDI also documents machine-learning models on uploaded video, with corrosion detection available as an opt-in feature tailored by agreement. That qualification is central: the core Portal subscription should not be assumed to include an unrestricted corrosion detector by default. The current platform accepts Scout recordings and external MOV or MP4 video, but external-video import alone does not establish automatic 3D localization for every source.
The platform's strength is delivery of a coherent inspection record to engineers and clients. Ultrasonic A-scans can accompany visual findings when appropriate measurement data exists, and reports combine those records. Scout Portal suits inspection providers already using Scout 137 capture who want AI assistance within review and reporting, rather than a separate facility-wide coating-management system.
Masks, grades and spatial context
InFlightAI is the clearest choice when the required output is a configured corrosion segmentation mask from flight imagery. ABYSS goes further into coating grades, component identity and spatially scoped remediation work. Scout Portal puts the image finding beside a flight timeline, point cloud and optional measurement record. These are different deliverables: a precise affected-image region, a maintenance-oriented condition record and a contextual inspection package. The right choice follows the decision the engineer needs to make from the output.
Capture and the surrounding workflow
ABYSS supports an asset-capture and analysis engagement that feeds continuing component and fleet comparisons. InFlightAI ties corrosion inference to synchronized imagery and waypoint data after a flight, with site-specific configuration. Scout Portal is closely integrated with Scout 137 recordings and their spatial metadata. For an owner hiring an inspection service, ABYSS may cover more of the continuing asset workflow; for an operator of an existing drone program, InFlightAI or ScoutDI may align more directly with the capture system already in use.
Commercial scope and measurement limits
All three require a current scoped offer because numeric production fees and processing quotas were not confirmed publicly. ABYSS needs capture, module and asset coverage specified. InFlightAI needs the configured model and ongoing inspection usage priced. ScoutDI needs Portal access, opt-in corrosion analysis and hardware or reporting additions separated. Visual corrosion classifications also differ from direct wall-thickness measurements: ScoutDI's UT records require actual sensor measurements, and an AI image mask by itself does not supply that reading.
Which product fits your inspection program?
Choose ABYSS Fabric for component-based corrosion and coating programs across industrial assets. Choose InFlightAI for post-flight surface masks configured to your sites. Choose Scout Portal when a Scout 137 inspection record, spatial review and client reporting form the center of the work, with corrosion AI explicitly included in the agreement.
